The Jim Henson Exhibit @ The Museum of The Moving Image

This dynamic experience explores Jim Henson’s groundbreaking work for film and television and his transformative impact on culture.

The Jim Henson Exhibition features a broad range of objects from throughout his remarkable career. It reveals how Henson and his team of builders, performers, and writers brought to life the enduringly popular worlds of The Muppet Show, the Muppet movies, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth.

May 4-6 – Frieze Art Festival @ Randall’s Island

Art lovers flock to Randalls Island Park for this dreamy display of works from 200 international galleries—and the view of Manhattan ain’t bad either. Take the ferry or the bus over to the island (buy advance tickets online if you can), and plan to spend some serious time immersing yourself in the imaginative projects found both indoors and out.

May 12th – Taco & Tequila Festival

Party at NYC’s hottest fiesta-val, coming to Brooklyn Expo Center on May 12th. Expect awesome original tacos from your favorite local chefs and an unlimited open bar with tequila cocktails and beer.

In between bites and sips, compete in a pinata hitting contest, show off your limbo and hula hooping skills, bob for churros, and more. This is a certified celebration of the best things in life. Grab your friends and get down!

May 12th – Holi Hai Festival Of Color at Governor’s Island

Join a celebration of culture, spring and diversity at the largest open festival of colors!!  The 9th annual Holi Hai festival will take place once again at the large Play Lawn at Governors Island in New York City.

May 19th – Five Boro Craft Beer Festival

This Fest was started because MOST other Beer Festivals well, frankly, give beer Festivals a bad name. This Fest you will get an actual tasting glass, the beer will be served at the appropriate temperature, tickets are limited so there will not be any lines to get a beer, there are plenty of Indoor bathrooms and you will be offered delicious food to fill your belly! Everyone is a VIP!

May 19/20 – CoffeeCon New York

CoffeeCon is the world’s first 100% consumer coffee festival featuring tasting floor, top coffee experts, tasting seminars, classes and labs in almost every brewing method. Java addicts, brace yourselves for the ultimate caffeine buzz. You don’t have to be a barista or a coffee savant to go to this coffee bean affair, but one thing’s for sure: By the end of this convention, you’ll know how to make a good cup of joe.
