What is GDPR?

In 2016, the European Union adopted the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR becomes enforceable on May 25th, 2018, which will replace the EU Data Protection Directive 1995 in each EU country. Compliance is mandatory for any company that deals with the data of EU citizens, regardless of whether or not companies have a business presence in the EU. These new regulations are intended to help people stay in control of their personal information.
