Join us for an intimate evening with artist Laolu Senbanjo – who most recently provided the artwork for Beyonce’s Grammy Award-winning album, “Lemonade” – as he showcases his latest works in our new event space Novo Locale. In addition to hosting a talk and discussing his various inspirations, there will be exciting performance art for guests to partake in.
About Laolu Senbanjo: A self-proclaimed keeper of Nigeria’s Yoruba culture, Laulo goes by the mantra “Everything is my canvas” and created the Sacred Art of the Ori Yoruba body paint ritual. He has graced the cover of the Washington Post as well as features in various publications, including the NY Times, Vogue, BBC, CNN, and VICE. His ever-growing list of collaborations has been with brands like Kenneth Cole, Nike, Equinox Fitness, and with other artists such as Alicia Keys, Swiss Beatz, Seun Kuti, Tony Allen, Alek Wek, and Danielle Brooks. Laolu currently resides in Brooklyn.
